This program is set up by Han ban, for promoting the corporation and communication in the field of TCFL between domestic and overseas teachers. Also, it provides an opportunity for overseas Chinese teachers’ advanced study and research, together with the outlay support while in China.
A series of flexible course will be destined to meet the different demands from multinational teachers and their various levels. Those practical curriculums mainly includes: Chinese language episteme and teaching course; theories and methods of TCFL; applications of modern educational high –techs in TCFL; Chinese-feature cultural practical course; Symposiums between Chinese domestic teachers and overseas teachers. BICC, the training institute appointed by Han Ban, set down the curriculum schedule stick to the outline and its own feature, as references for all comers.
Ⅰ Application Conditions
Chinese language teachers from foreign schools with at least one year of Chinese teaching experience; less than 60 years old, strong physical health; have not participated in the project within the past five years; love Chinese teaching and willing to engage in this course for the long term.
Ⅱ Training Cycle
The training activity usually lasts 1-4 weeks as a cycle. Learners can choose the most suitable cycle and time according to their own situation.
Ⅲ Training Content
In order to make the training program more focused, the institute responsible for this project will design different training plans according to the demands of different learners and the Chinese language teaching situation in their respective countries.
Ⅳ Training Costs
The Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) will provide tuition, fees, accommodation and other financial aid except for international travel cost. A double standard room is provided for free from the reporting day to the day the training concludes. If learner needs a higher standard accommodation, he or she should pay the cost by himself or herself.
Ⅴ Training Certificate
When the research project is completed, an examination will be held. Those who pass the exam will be awarded a certificate by Hanban and our college. More than three absences will deprive you of the opportunity to obtain the certificate.
Ⅵ Application Method
Applicants can apply for the training program for the next year in the Education or Culture Department of the Chinese Embassy in their respective countries from November to December.
Ⅶ Application Materials
Applicants must fill in and submit the "Application Form for Overseas Chinese Teacher Training Programme” (forms can be downloaded) in duplicate (including a copy); an in-service certificate issued by the school and a recommendation letter written by the school principals are also needed.
Ⅷ Enrollment and Notification
Chinese embassies and consulates are eligible to check the materials issued by applicants, sign preliminary views, and forward the materials to Hanban. Hanban will reexamine the materials and notify the Chinese embassies and consulates of the results. Finally, the embassies and consulates are responsible for notifying the applicants whether they are accepted to the program.
Ⅸ Others
Applications declined because of inconsistent application conditions or quota restrictions can be handled by contacting the training institute directly for a chance to study without financial assistance from Hanban.
