Approved by Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau, the first professional educational institution devoted to international promotion of Chinese language, Beijing International Chinese College (BICC) was founded in September, 2005, to adapt to the economic globalization and diversified development of world culture, to meet the needs of China’s further opening up to the outside world and communicate widely with various countries. Since our foundation, we have achieved the qualification of enrolling International students, organizing training program for visiting teachers from abroad under the authorization of Hanban, and holding various kinds of tests, such as TCFL, HSK, BCT, YCT, and BETS. To date, we have totally trained 700 teachers both from our own country and abroad, enrolled 600 international students and about 8000 examinees took exams in our college. Moreover, we have organized a series of important training seminars and R&D projects entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce, Hanban, Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. We are currently in cooperation with many schools, educational institutions and established enterprises in America, Spain, Italy, France, New Zealand,

and etc. BICC is gradually developing into a one-off and top-notch Chinese learning and teaching base.

1. Focus on teaching international students Chinese and training teachers teaching Chinese as a foreign language.

2. Build Chinese teaching bases in other countries.

3. Construct an on-line teaching platform ,integrate Chinese teaching resources and reform Chinese learning methods to satisfy people’s needs to joyfully and effortlessly learn Chinese anytime, anywhere, regardless of nationalities, ages and education backgrounds.

4. Become the ambassador in the international promotion of Chinese language and culture.

Qualifications

※ Approved by Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Public Security Department and Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office to enroll children of full time employees from other countries in Beijing and international students.

※ Approved by the Office of Chinese Language Council International to organize training projects for Chinese teachers from abroad.

※ One of the organizers of training projects from Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China Department of Aid to Foreign Countries.

※ Authorized by the Office of Chinese Language Council International to hold HSK(Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), BCT(Business Chinese Test) and YCT(Young Learner Chinese Test).

※ Authorized by Beijing Education and Examinations Authority to organize BETS(Beijing English Testing System).

Teaching staff

We possess a team of highly skilled full-time and part-time teachers of whom 95 percent have Bachelor’s degree or above, 75 percent are sub-senior or senior professionals. Our part time teachers are renowned experts, professors or subject leaders of established universities, education institutions, primary and secondary schools. They all have lots o f teaching experience and many have taught Chinese abroad.

Direct and coordinate affairs of the college; deal with the documents of the college, manage the files; host the meetings; personnel management; financial plans, accounting and management.

Teaching Affairs Department (including Teacher’s Training Department, Foreign Students Department, Chinese Test Department and Admission Office):

Train teachers teaching Chinese as a foreign language in China and from other countries, enroll international students to study Chinese in China, organize various tests, do research in Chinese teaching, organize business Chinese training class, develop practical teaching materials and multi-media courseware.

International Cooperation Department:

Communicate and cooperate with education institutions of other countries, organize research and exchange activities in the field of Chinese language teaching with the outside world, start and manage cooperative projects with overseas organizations.

Tang Chinese Education:

Develop and popularize Tang Chinese online teaching and service system, build advanced open-ended online Chinese teaching platform which we own the intellectual property rights.
